Wouter is particularly interested in defining the motives that drive professionals and their career choices. In his work Wouter is committed to establishing the perfect match between candidate and client, in order to achieve maximum added value for both the individual and the organisation.
Wouter earned his Masters Degree in Socio-Economic History from VU University in Amsterdam, and obtained a Master in Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management. He started his career in the Dutch Diplomatic Service. As a diplomat, Wouter worked in conflict resolution in Central Africa before joining the political section at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Washington DC. Not only did he work in different cultures under sometimes challenging circumstances, but Wouter also operated at the highest political levels with top officials and ministers and representatives from think tanks and the private sector.
Following his diplomatic service, Wouter made the decision to switch to executive search. At Van Der Hoef & Partners he worked in the health care sector. In 2016 Wouter joined Holtrop Ravesloot, where he will broaden his focus to executive positions within the private sector and the public domain.
During his tenure in the diplomatic service Wouter gained expertise in the complexity of organisations operating in an international arena, and how these organisations can improve their effectiveness by focusing on hiring the right people and developing their leadership and management skills. Executive search offers Wouter the opportunity to utilise his international experience and interests to the benefit of his clients.
Wouter lives in Amsterdam with his family and is an avid cyclist and speed-skater.
