During his Global & Colonial History studies at Leiden University, Maarten focused primarily on charismatic leadership and power structures in the former French colonies in the Caribbean and West Africa. This has given him a nuanced understanding of leadership within a range of societal and institutional contexts.

After completing an internship in the education sector – where translating complex issues into concrete priorities and assessing and responding to the competencies of others were key – Maarten decided to explore the corporate world.

At Holtrop Ravesloot, Maarten is able to apply his passion for research and writing to the development of position profiles. He also approaches candidates openly and honestly throughout the search process, drawing on the analytical and communication skills he acquired in education. Maarten works with care, insight, and curiosity to foster lasting leadership matches in both the private and public sectors.
